October 2024 will see the announcement of the Ballon d’Or winner.
It is believed that Rodri and Erling Haaland, who play for Manchester City, will be in the running.
There will likely be three Real Madrid players on the shortlist: Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, and Dani Cavajal.
Shearer and Lineker disagree, though, and think Rodri should take home the trophy for his stellar performance for club and nation this past season.
When asked who he thought should win the Ballon d’Or, Shearer confidently said about Micah Richards, a former Manchester City defender, “It can only be him.”
My opinion is that Rodri deserves it [the Ballon d’Or],” Lineker continued. They lost the Champions League final at City, but he was their undisputed leader and they won the league and the Euros with Spain.
