Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, has expressed his desire for Nigeria to function.
During his recent appearance on New Central TV, Obi—the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election—spoke.
“To tell you the truth, I’m not desperate to be president of Nigeria,” Obi said in response to concerns about whether he would accept to run for vice president in the 2027 election.
Seeing Nigeria succeed is my greatest desire.
I will find someone else to do the job if I find someone better.
Some individuals even think I shouldn’t come out in 2027, but I told them to just offer themselves. Plus, we won’t be weighing each and every one of you.
“I would be here and if anybody is coming for us to negotiate or to come together, he must tell me what his purposes are,” the ex-governor remarked in response to rumors that he may leave the Labour Party in the wake of the leadership crisis.
Rumor has it that Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) would team together for the 2027 election.
