The late singer Mohbad’s family has spoken out against actress Yomi Fabiyi’s recent request that they demonstrate at the upcoming court hearing.
According to the Worldoh, Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, with no apparent cause of death.
Later on, an autopsy was conducted at LASUTH (Lagos State University Teaching Hospital) on his remains.
Although the toxicology study was conducted, no noteworthy discoveries were found that could be linked to his demise.
The autopsy that Mohbad’s family had requested was rejected by the report.
In light of the impending court hearing marking Mohbad’s one-year anniversary, Fabiyi has called on the general people to demonstrate peacefully.
In addition, he suggested that on the anniversary of Mohbad’s death, a nonviolent demonstration be planned to demand more justice.
A member of the family’s legal team, Monisola Odumosu, issued a statement on Wednesday in response to the actor’s request, in which she cautioned that holding protests in a courtroom setting could disrupt the proceedings.
To prevent being held in contempt of court, the statement emphasized that all actions must be carried out in a courteous manner.
It doesn’t matter what someone does, as long as it doesn’t break the law. Everyone has the right to air their complaints, according to the Constitution.
A whole new ballgame, though, when it comes to entering the court precinct. Quietness is required of them. Justice must be carried out in an undisturbed manner in the courtroom. Unless they want to face contempt of court charges.
They should not interfere with the court processes in any way while they are exercising their rights, according to the statement.
