Omoyele Sowore, a former African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, urged Nigerian students to participate in the next #EndBadGovernance demonstration leg on Saturday.
The “FearlessInOctober” protest’s second phase will take place throughout Nigeria in October.
Sowore made the accusation while drawing parallels between Bangladeshi students and Nigerian students who participated in a large-scale uprising against their government.
The lawmaker turned activist said that the country’s prime minister resigned as a result of the student uprising in Bangladesh.
“A Tale of Two Religious Countries – BANGLADESH and NIGERIA!” Sowore stated, sharing two images. The prime minister resigned and left the nation as a result of the tremendous uprising of Bangladeshi students, as depicted in the first picture.
The second image shows University of Ibadan students in Nigeria on August 16, 2024, during a “UPPER ROOM” religious ceremony.
Bangladeshi students spearheaded their own #EndbadGovernance uprising, while Nigerian students avoided the countrywide #EndbadgovernanceInNigeria.
“Students in Nigeria were still able to participate fully in #FearlessInOctober.”
A few days ago, the ten-day #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest came to a conclusion.
Among other things, protestors had called for the restoration of the gasoline subsidy program and the release of Nnamdi Kanu.
