Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, has said that Arsenal, a team they’ll be competing with for the Premier League title, are “on fire” in the lead-up to the new season.
When it came to last season’s title race, the Gunners were right there with City.
On the last day, Guardiola’s team prevailed by a razor-thin margin of two points.
Along with a recent 4-1 preseason friendly victory against German champions Bayer Leverkusen, Arsenal have bolstered their roster by acquiring defender Riccardo Calafiori from Italy.
Guardiola stated, “I have been concerned for many years (with) how good they are because every year they are getting better,” in response to a question regarding his team’s possible title challengers in the Community Shield.
Having watched their match against Leverkusen, I believe Arsenal will continue to play at the same level as they did last year. Things are heating up. It seems like they get progressively more challenging each year.
