The hosts scored goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka to start the new season with a perfect score.
Before Havertz cut in from the right and fired a fierce shot beyond Jose Sa, Saka set up Havertz’s goal.
After the game, Arteta was questioned about Saka and the reasons teams let him cut inside onto his left foot.
“Good players, you know,” he retorted. I’m confident that [Lionel] Messi will enter this area and place the ball there. He always does that. The players’ caliber is the issue.
