Labor Party (LP) member Peter Obi has blasted President Bola Tinubu’s government for how it dealt with the subsidy removal measures.
According to Obi, if the Tinubu administration had the opportunity, it would charge Nigerians and eliminate the aviation subsidy.
The remarks were made by the presidential candidate of the Labour Party during an interview that was broadcasted on Wednesday by News Central TV.
“As I’ve mentioned previously, we need to demonstrate the removal and application of things,” Obi stated. As of right now, you have no idea what the subsidy is. Who are you to say?
The fuel subsidy, they maintain, has been eliminated. The subsidy for electricity has been eliminated. Indeed, the air subsidy will soon be eliminated.
They would try to charge us for air if they could. That is not to imply that we will not act in that way. Please inform us where it’s heading, though.
According to Worldoh, the fuel subsidy was announced to be removed by Tinubu’s government in May 2023.
Gas prices have risen across the country as a result of the development.
