Ogbomoso, Oyo State’s brand-new Wazobia (Wazo) market has locked out scores of vendors and butchers.

It was learned by Worldoh that on Friday, the dealers were barred from access.

This change occurred after the ruling of the Oyo State High Court in Ogbomoso, which was rendered on August 26, 2018, in favor of the company J.A. Ladeji and Sons (Nig). Ltd., which had claimed ownership of the property.

Our source informed us that the plaintiff filed a lawsuit seeking restitution for the 1.875 hectares of land that were allotted to butchers by the state government through the Ogbomoso North local council earlier this year.

Nevertheless, the land tract in question was ordered to be relinquished by the defendant by Justice K.B. Olawoyin in a ruling handed down on August 26, 2024.
