Ex-Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has claimed he did all in his power to urge Mikel Arteta, Arsenal manager, to start him again.

Ramsdale made the comment when thinking back on his summer transfer from Arsenal to Southampton.

After losing his starting job to David Raya last season, the Englishman—a former top scorer for Arsenal—left the North London club to join Southampton in the Premier League.

“A manager’s decision is a manager’s decision,” Ramsdale told talkSPORT in the lead-up to Saturday’s Premier League match between Manchester United and Southampton.

I made every effort to persuade Arteta to reconsider and let me back in. He was determined… enjoyed a successful season with David Raya.

Though it was difficult, I have now settled into my new house.
