Siasia to become a member of the Super Eagles squad as FIFA suspension lifted

After his suspension from FIFA expires, Samson Siasia will be eligible to play for the Nigerian national team again.

Next month, the Super Eagles will play the Benin Republic and Rwanda in AFCON 2025 qualifiers, and the 57-year-old will be a part of the temporary coaching staff, barring any last-minute change of heart.

In response to charges of match-fixing, FIFA banned Siasia for five years.

The six-day suspension was lifted, though, and he is now allowed to play football again.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has not yet named a permanent coach for the Eagles, but according to OwnGoalNigeria, Siasia has been in discussions to join an interim setup.

With the help of local coaches, NFF technical director Augustine Eguavoen is set to lead both games.
