Herve Renard – Aghahowa is out of NFF’s price range

According to Julius Aghahowa, a former striker for Nigeria, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is unable to pay Herve Renard’s wage.

Renard has requested a monthly salary of $125,000 to assume the role of head coach with the Super Eagles.

After Finidi George’s resignation in June, the NFF still has not appointed a coach.

Aghahowa suggested that the federation hire a competent local coach during his appearance on Brila FM.

“We have to be realistic when it comes to African football and even world football,” he added, adding that coach HervĂ© Renard is an experienced and good coach.

Given the cost, can we really afford him?

Even when the previous coach was in charge of the squad and making $50,000 to $70,000 per year, we still had a hard time paying him.

“Where are we going to get the funds from? We’ve been owing him for months, and now we’re talking about nearly twice that amount.

“Our local coaches are capable, and while we may not be able to afford the salaries of foreign coaches, we will compensate them fairly. We will also give them the time they need to develop our team.”
